Yes there are some people who think the Moon Landings were a big hoax. Yawn. But of course it did happen and the USA sent several missions there from Apollo 11 to Apollo 17 (Apollo 13 didn’t land due to an explosion in the Command Module).
The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera has been ‘orbiting’ the moon now for over 900 days and taking high resolution shots of the surface and the landing sites where snapped last year and released to the public.
Last week NASA released new shots of the landings and of one of the USSR rovers. The one in this blog is of the Apollo 11 site (click on it to get the full photo) and shows the remnants of Armstrong and Aldrin’s historic first steps on the surface are seen as dark paths around the Lunar Module (LM), Lunar Ranging RetroReflector (LRRR) and Passive Seismic Experiment Package (PSEP), as well as leading to and from Little West crater.
