The great little Nokia Lumia 520 has been the low end workhorse for Windows Phone 8 since it was introduced in 2010 with over 12 million of them sold. The O2 network in London this week was letting them go out the door for only 49.00 (GBP) or about $60USD, with a prepaid SIM. At that price I picked one up as a dedicated work phone.
As with all Nokia Windows Phones setting up was a breeze, but this time I had an issue signing into the MS account I set up for it. The issue was fixed when some research found that the auto date should be turned off and date set manually (the date was 2013 and this was the issue). That done it was first to upgrade to Windows Phone 8.1 via the developer network to bring it into the present (or future) and then add the apps required : Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Skype : as it is the work phone after all. Not sure why people moan about App numbers on the Windows Phone platform as what most people use is there.
Over the first couple of days took a few photos with the 520, and here are some of them. Most of the photos are of flowers which show the colors, form and quality of the focus.
Overall it is a great little phone for the price.
